Font & template FAQs
PRODUCT & PURCHASING QUESTIONS
The "Font Only" option gives you the Paper Stitch Sans font file (OTF) and an installation guide. The "Font + Frames Bundle" gives you the font plus the customizable "Little Meadow Frames" templates in multiple formats (Procreate, Photoshop, Word, JPG, etc.) and a complete embroidery stitch guide for the frames.
This listing is for the font and the customizable templates. We have a separate listing for the "Little Meadow Frames" as a standard, non-customizable pattern with pre-set quotes, just like our other patterns.
SOFTWARE & COMPATIBILITY QUESTIONS
To use the font and templates, you must use a program that allows you to install and use your own custom fonts.
- This includes: Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, and the Pro version of Canva.
- This will NOT work with the free version of Canva or Google Docs, as they do not allow you to install custom fonts.
You should have a basic understanding of your chosen software (e.g., how to use a text box). While I provide a guide on how to install the font, I am not able to offer technical support for every type of software. A working knowledge of your program is highly recommended.
No. This product does not contain any SVG files. These are digital templates (JPG, PNG, PSD, etc.) and a font file designed for you to print, then pierce and stitch by hand.
USING THE PAPER STITCH SANS FONT
The font is optimized to be used at 40pt. I do not recommend using it any smaller, as the holes will be too close together and will rip your paper. You can certainly use it at larger sizes, but you may need to test it first to ensure you like the look.
You must use the Ultra Fine point of the 3-in-1 awl (or a similar ultra-fine tool). The holes are designed to be very small and close together, and any larger awl point will not work.
I recommend using 2 strands of floss. This is a perfect amount for the small, delicate holes and gives a very clean, legible result.
To prevent the piercing dots from being too noticeable on your final project, I recommend changing the font color to a light-to-medium gray (50-80% gray) or a color that matches your thread before you print.
USING THE LITTLE MEADOW FRAMES TEMPLATES
The templates are provided in two sizes for your convenience:
- A standard 8.5" x 11" sheet with crop marks for an A7 unfolded card.
- A 10" x 7" template (which folds to create a finished 5" x 7" A7 card).
The floral and leaf elements of the frame patterns are designed to be used with the Fine point and Heavy point from the 3-in-1 awl, as directed in the stitch guide.
Yes! The floral elements are designed to be stitched with either a straight stitch or a detached chain stitch (lazy daisy). This gives you even more opportunity to personalize your project.
The bundle includes my complete stitch guide! It has:
- Detailed stitching instructions
- A full supply and resource list
- Images of the completed samples
- A thread color guide
- A link to a video tutorial
LICENSE & COPYRIGHT QUESTIONS
Yes, but the commercial rights are different for the font versus the templates.
- For the "Paper Stitch Sans" FONT: You can use the font to create your own original commercial products, including new digital patterns for sale (like your own unique quote designs) and finished physical items.
- For the "Little Meadow Frames" TEMPLATES: You can use the templates to create and sell finished physical items (like hand-stitched cards).
- THE RESTRICTION: You are not allowed to resell, share, or redistribute the template files themselves (JPG, PSD, Word doc, etc.) in any way. You also may not use the templates to create new digital patterns for sale (for example, you cannot just change the words in the frame and sell it as your own new digital pattern).
No. This purchase licenses the font and files to one (1) user only. You may not share, copy, resell, or redistribute the font or template files themselves. Please direct your friends to this listing so they can purchase their own license.
All rights and ownership of the font ("Paper Stitch Sans") and the "Little Meadow Frames" designs remain with me, Sara Pastrana of Flourishing Fibers.
